Stylish HQ heralds new chapter in business
With its state-of-the-art kitchen and cappuccino machine, bar area complete with tall table and stools, leafy view over parkland and the Brisbane River and a sophisticated internal colour palette; staff from the company’s new Brisbane base should never want to leave the office.
Woollam Construction’s new 650m2 head office is a standout property in East Brisbane’s emerging commercial precinct. Not only does the company have excellent exposure to thousands of motorists commuting in and out of the city daily, but staff also have one of the most picturesque park and river views any inner-city company could wish for.
With three main executive office spaces, a gym, a boardroom that features a projector screen and concertina doors that fold back to create an open-space function room, a stylish reception area, balcony and spacious work stations, Woollam Construction’s new headquarters reflects a new era of business for the company and a fresh take on Woollam’s growing reputation in the Queensland building industry. The new head office is a far cry from the company’s former premise at Newmarket, which is currently under contract.
Executive Officer Scott Wedgwood said the new purpose built facility provided the perfect base and opportunity for the company to embrace a new chapter of business. “This is an exciting time for Woollams, on the one hand we’re gearing up to celebrate the past 125 years of business and on the other were very focused on finetuning the company’s future business strategies as we move into a new phase of growth,” Scott said. “During the past three months our senior management team has been working alongside our regional managers to map out business plans for the next 12 months which will consolidate our resources and bring together our project managers and other professionals from around the region.”
But it’s not all about work at Woollam’s sexy new digs with the new premise the place to be for Friday afternoon drinks or a formal social function. Staff turned up to make the most of the view for Brisbane’s annual River Fire festival where they watched the spectacular fireworks display light up the Story Bridge.
A formal launch to celebrate the opening of the new head office is expected to be held this year. A date is yet to be fixed for the event, but there is talk of a joint celebration in March this year, to mark the company’s 125th anniversary. We’ll keep you posted.
